Heart Happening, benefiting the Lotus House Women’s Shelter, at the Margulies Art Warehouse
For the sixth year in a row, the Martin Z. Margulies Foundation and Sundari Foundation have co-sponsored an extraordinary art event – this year called Heart Happening- at the Margulies Art Warehouse in Miami, with all proceeds benefiting the Lotus House serving women and children in need. The 2009 Hope Blossoms - Art Happening hosted last year included over 40 artists, musicians, dancers, and performance artists from New York to LA, as well as an amazing art auction of over 100 works, and was a resounding success attended by more than 800 participants, receiving both critical acclaim and unprecedented media attention focused on the special needs of homeless women and children and the unique ways in which Lotus House addresses those needs. Thanksgiving Day Dinner
for the Overtown neighborhood. Every year, Lotus House opens its doors to the entire neighborhood and hosts a free Thanksgiving Day feast, with roast turkey and all the fixin’s, pumpkin pie and lots of treats for the kids (big and little). It is a very special day to give thanks by giving back and we are joined every year by over 400 friends and neighbors!

celebrating the capacity of art to touch and uplift those in need – the spiritual heart of art! Join us for a toast launching the Art Miami Fair and exhibition of our special limited edition boxed portfolio, entitled By and About Women. The By and About Women portfolio of art and poetry is a collaborative work by women artists from around the world and the creative writing group of the Lotus House. Touching, soulful and beautiful, the By and About Women portfolio resonates deeply with the concept and cause underlying the Lotus House, and in so many ways and gives voice to the dreams and aspirations of all women to be safe, free and truly who they were meant to be. In both, we seek to transform the isolation of poverty and homelessness into a message of hope, social inclusion and heightened awareness of what each of us can do to make a difference. Read More

Lotus House Holiday Party
celebrating the holiday season with our traditional homemade holiday dinner, eggnog, lots of sweets, and most importantly plenty of love, friends and good cheer! Join us for the festivities, as we await the arrival of Rudolph (who looks remarkably like a dog we rescued – they must be related!) and Ms. Claus with her bag of treats for young and old!
