Priscilla Ferguson
Priscilla Ferguson is a graduate of Florida International University, where she received an MFA and BFA in Photography. She now teaches photography at Florida International University. Her photographs are full of humor and whimsy, often portraying people in unlikely encounters. As a fifth generation Floridian, she possesses a strong affinity for the landscape and people of Florida. “I offer my work as a kind of antidote to … foolishness. I believe that we are all surrounded by great wonders, we just have to learn to recognize them, as they are new to us, or seemingly so. Beauty alone is probably not enough, and I am lucky to have had life experiences where I have survived exquisite pain, even suffering, and I am still making pictures.” Priscilla Ferguson. Her work is included in collections such as Martin Z. Margulies and Museum of Modern Art, NY.
